COJ Sidewalks

Dear Neighbors,

Please check the COJ sidewalks near your home to ensure they are free of significant damage or trip hazards.  If a sidewalk slab is raised at least 1/4 inch above the adjacent slab, it presents a trip hazard and COJ will address it.  If there are large cracks or crumbled areas on the sidewalk, they will fix those too.

The HOA has submitted several tickets for sidewalk repair, but we encourage you to do so as well.  You may submit a COJ ticket online at https://myjax.custhelp.com/app/ServiceTypes/p/165/pname/Streets,%20Sidewalks%20&%20Drainage or by calling (904)630-CITY(2489).

Please remember that landscaping maintenance to the City Right of Way is intended to be performed by the abutting property owner.  This includes mowing the yard to the edge of the pavement, edging the driveway and sidewalks, and pruning plants and trees that may impede pedestrian traffic along sidewalks.

Finally be advised that the sidewalks, including the ones that are in front of your home, belong to COJ.  Florida State Statute 316.1945 prohibits parking on these sidewalks.

Our sidewalks are an important shared amenity.  Please help keep them neatly maintained, accessible, and safe for our community.

Thank you,

Waterleaf Board of Directors
